Steampunk Derpy Hooves! After many, many hours of tireless work, she is finally finished (and looking absolutely adorable, if I do say so myself).
This started out as simply a joke about steampunk being nothing but "throwing gears on shit and calling it good." I never really gave it more thought than that. BUT. I have many friends who are into this stuff, so I thought, "Maybe I'm missing something." And then I started researching the subject a bit more and started to form my own intrigue. Eventually, it exploded into "If I were to make a steampunk pony, would there be interest?" The following outcry of "YES!" from a few very vocal friends was enough to push me over the edge. Then, when I got my hands on the Hot Topic Derpy, I knew that there was no better place to start.
What you see above is the end result of a drive that seemingly came out of nowhere, yet took me all over the place.
Original figure used was the FUNKO! Derpy sold at Hot Topic. Her clothes and hat are all made from Milliput. She was painted using latex-based paints and covered in a semi-gloss acrylic matte.
